For 18 months, we've been working alongside you for fairer recognition of the crucial roles that you as operational health workers play in keeping our vital services running smoothly across Tasmania. Yet, the government continues to disregard your concerns and feedback.
At our most recent meeting with the Department, not only did they fail to present any offer, but they were wishy washy about their previous commitments. This lack of respect for your hard work and dedication is unacceptable. We have demanded a summary of what they do agree to so that we can present their position to you, but their consistent failure to listen to the issues you've raised about the current structure is beyond frustrating.
Your vital roles have been under-recognised for far too long, and the lack of acknowledgement for the years you have dedicated to the service must be rectified. The ongoing delays and inaction are an insult to the work you do delivering essential services every day.
We will be organising meetings with members across the state to discuss our next steps. Your participation in these meetings is crucial as we decide on our collective response and the actions we need to take to ensure that your needs and feedback are finally addressed.
Keep an eye out for our updates with the details of these meetings. In the meantime, please continue to share your ideas for potential industrial actions and connect with our organisers in your workplaces.
