Regis Home Care workers deserve the same wages as residential workers

Aged Care

We met with Regis management last week to continue bargaining for your new Agreement. We pushed hard with the wages claim and told Regis that they need to match the wage deal that residential care workers received in their Agreement recently, and you would not be accepting of anything less.

Regis have advised they will be meeting with you all to discuss the total package, and our advice is not to accept unless the wage offer matches the residential offer. You are not worth less than your residential colleagues and it is disrespectful that management don’t agree.

Regis won’t pay backpay for the years you did not get a negotiated wage increase but will instead make a one-off lump sum payment. The lump sum payment is:

Full-time $3,000
Above 0.75 but less than FT     $2,750
Above 0.5 to 0.75 $2,500
0.25 - 0.5 $2,000
Less than 0.25 $1,750

Here's a reminder of what’s been achieved so far:

• 3% wage increase 2024 & 2025
• Public holiday increased to double time and a half
• Sunday increased to double time
• Travel allowance 96c per kilometre
• 20 days paid family and domestic violence leave
• Sleepover allowance increased to $110
