Did you know that your award allows you to request additional leave? The Health and Human Services Award (HAHSA) has a provision in it known as the State Service Accumulated Leave Scheme (SSALS), which allows you to purchase additional leave for a reduced salary.
For example, you could request an additional four weeks leave in the year and you’d receive 92.3% of your salary for that 12 months.
So, if you’re considering a longer break or need more recreational leave, you can always put in a request for SSALS. Keep in mind that it’s at the discretion of the department to approve the request based on operational requirements.
