About the Health and Community Services Union

Everything from how we run and operate, to our long and storied history

HACSU is the largest union in Tasmania, with over 11,000 members right across the state, and has been a vital voice for workers rights in the health sector since 1911.

Over this time, HACSU has had changed and evolved, and now represents an organisation that brings together a large cohort of likeminded and socially conscious people.

What made us before is who we are now, and we are mightily proud of our history and the positive change that we've been able to enact.

Here, you can find out more about the work that we do, how we are structured and run as an organisation, as well as a deep dive into our history and that of the Tasmanian union movement.
